Studying As The Backbone for Innovative Thinking

Studying As The Backbone for Innovative Thinking

Studying demands Research, Knowledge Gathering, Consumption and Assimilation  but most of our children and undergrads  ONLY read school notes with no interest in Research, which provides the depth to draw innovation from.

For most of our undergrads, the only time there is an attempt at a research is during their last school project.

It is the research of knowledge that develops the permanent images of the knowledge acquired in the subconscious mind.

It is the abundance of knowledge settled in the subconscious mind, that
births fresh innovations.

I can't remember, how I acquired some prisms in my secondary school days. I was able to carry out lots of experiments with them privately at home. This was one of the favorite subjects areas I answered questions about in my WAEC examination.

The same happened while we were at Longitude and Latitude subject in mathematics, as I used oranges to research the subject.

I made my papers at a sitting and would have done much better with more research based learning culture.

Innovation is impossible without sound root knowledge of any thought.

It is our understanding of gravity, that created the opportunity to defy it.
Today, a lot of gadgets are flying all over the place and EVEN GADGETS AS SMALL AS ANTS ARE NOW EQUIPPED WITH CAMERA FOR ENEMY SURVEILLANCE.

There are things to be done from Preschool curriculum, to facilitate interest in research and assimilation of knowledge.

When we have a situation in our educational system, where THE TEACHER has never seen a Microwave or a Drone before and the image of the poorly mass produced textbook is unclear, how will the teacher with no smartphone skill inspire knowledge, in a village with no electricity, computer, and internet.

Having an enabling teaching and learning environment is the biggest challenge with education in Africa and it is a serious conspiracy that is seemingly unrestrained. This is even worst off in the North, where some groups are against western education. This same groups depend on western technology to coordinate and create mayhem ironically.

Our education system in Africa needs a complete overhauling.

Government must declare a state of emergency in our education system management and seek for Foreign Missionaries to help develop the root knowledge bases and teaching capacity.

I read few days ago, JAMB posted Billions of naira into CBN from the last Examination carried out. I could just imagine Jamb creating two more opportunities yearly for more attempt at the exam. This could hit 20billion with more efficient management yearly.

This is one area Government will SINCERELY PUMP FOREIGN AIDS in billions of dollars and have exponential return on investment.

We see in images and for as long as those images are difficult to form in the mind, studying will be a tough call.

The teaching strategy MUST change.
The need for more teaching aids that feeds graphical images into the mind will humongously upscale interest in studying and consequently birth more innovations. Hiworks
