Can We Possibly Get Our Undergrads To Be More Business Smarter in School

Can We Possibly Get Our Undergrads To Be More Business Smarter in School
From Odusina Adewale Hiworks
For some reasons, a lot of us spent 4-7years in Higher Institution acquiring knowledge and did not for once see the huge business potential the environment offers.
See a small analysis.
I schooled at University of Ilorin and the population of people in my Campus would have been over 10,000. Now, this would be 3 or more times more.
Imagine every student come to school with N10,000.00 monthly upkeep allowance.
The implication of this is that, every Session of six months in school N1.8billion will exchange hands in goods and services.
I ask myself now,  what happened to me back then in school???
90% or more of this pull of funds will circulate within the 4 walls of the institution through foodstuffs, groceries, fast food, hair care,  sport,  newspapers, transportation, telephone calls,  data,  stationeries, handouts, parties, Dressing, acquisition of appliances etc
It is high time we positioned our children in their teens to leverage this huge opportunities, equipping them with business skill, financial management skills, accounting skill,  soft skills, Trade skills like fashion designing,  hair care and related skills,  laundry skills, ironing skill, etc
Do you know that if the entire pull of funds recycle among the students as they offer services to one another, they could come back home with half of the value  taken to school as profit. It simply imply everyone offers some services.
When we show more interest in the empowerment of our children,  they will sack us early from financial support responsibility.
Mentoring is a deeper, more impactful approach to parenting our Teens. Mentoring can be outsourced,  when parents have difficult coming across in this regards and Mentoring can be learnt.

Do you truly believe in your Children... Do you truly? You Must!!!

From Odusina Adewale Hiworks

Do you truly believe in your Children... Do you truly?

It is amazing God calls us with 'impossible' adjectives mighty , valiant, fearless, the one with no guile...

◄ John 1:47 ►

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

In simplistic English

Jesus, who knew his thoughts, honoured him with the amiable character of a true Israelite, in whom there was no guile — A plain, upright, honest man, one free from hypocrisy, and open to conviction; one who not only derived his pedigree from Abraham, but who inherited his virtues.” — Macknight. There was no mentioning of his prejudices and pride.

If I must judge as a man,  Nathaniel is no where near this personality described being overwhelmed with prejudice and pride,  however,  within than frailty Nathaniel is the man Christ described that is yet to be harnessed or unveiled.

Nathaniel appears to me as one at the peak of his career, a local success before Jesus came into the mix. With Jesus,  he became a global success.

Remember, this man became one of the apostles and played a vital role in the evangelism of India, a massive nation.

Also, doing a case study of Gideon...
The Midianites raided each year, draining the life out Israel. Then, the Lord sat down under an oak tree and told Gideon that he was a mighty man of valor. Gideon was in fear and hiding when God gave him this accolades .....

As parents, our children needs us to validate God's blessings in their lives, to validate their uniqueness, and to validate their abilities to succeed.

By the strength of God,  I tell my kids, it is not good enough to just be the best in your schools; be the best in the world.

I inspire them to nurture their gifts, that with the right level of nurture and discipline, they can be millionaires as teenagers.  I tell them that discipline starts at the right disposition towards God and seeing through the eyes of God, nothing shall be impossible.

I make them imagine being role models all over the world at early twenties and brand ambassadors to multinational brands.

I am already shocked at the results unfolding now with them. At 8, one is like a running water on the poetic side,  at 10, another is writing songs and exploring the keyboard  and at 12, the eldest is singing and getting a grip on flute.  And in school, all are tops.  Meanwhile,  this imply more investment on our part for attention to 'many grey areas' and more bills to pick eventually.

It is much easier to shape our kids very early before they are 13 and other 'teens' start rolling in.

We as parents have the responsibility to start an unquenchable fire of success base values and principles in our children most especially before they are teenage.

Teenage can be with pleasure when the children are personally persuaded of the right values.

However, if the water of parenting for you is already in troubled region and you are near breaking point,  remember, you are first a custodian,  before you are a parent: God is the owner,  and you can partner with God to bring the change desired. Find trusted believer to join you in prayers,  find mentors that can mentor them,  find for them positive addictions-sports, music training,  skill development....

Above all, believe in them against all odds and irrespective of their present disposition and you will eventually see what you believe.
